Rich Podurgal, Partner

 

Rich Podurgal is a senior executive with over 25 years of management experience. He currently serves as a partner with Square Peg Consulting. In addition to his consulting activities, Rich is currently a Lecturer in the Poole College of Management at North Carolina State University.

 

Rich recently served as the Global Vice-President of Human Resources and Development for Xchange Technology Group, a technology company with offices in eight countries. In this role Rich managed the global HR organization and served as a member of the executive team. During his tenure, Rich helped the company through the acquisition and integration of two European computer rental companies.

 

Prior to his role at Xchange Technology Group, Rich was the Chief Human Resources Officer for Health Decisions, a global Clinical Research Organization, where he lead the HR and Training functions and participated as a member of the executive leadership team.

From 2001 – 2007, Rich was Group Vice-President of Organization & People Development for Constella Group. As the leader of the HR and Corporate Communications organization and a member of the executive team, Rich helped the company grow from 180 domestic employees to a global company with 1400 employees in 40 countries. During his tenure, Constella received numerous awards for its culture, including Best Places To Work four years in a row.

 

Prior to Constella, Rich served as Director of Corporate Learning and Development for Glaxo (now GlaxoSmithKline) where he was responsible for the overall strategy and execution of professional development, management development, and executive development processes. He also held several other management positions within Glaxo, including Manager of Training and Organization Development for Technical Operations and Manager of Human Resources for Commercial Operations.

 

Early in his career Rich held management positions within the aerospace, textiles, and trucking industries. He is certified as a Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) and is qualified to deliver training in Crucial Conversations, Crucial Confrontations, Situational Leadership, Large-Scale Change, Interaction Management, and Targeted Selection. In addition, he is trained and certified in the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator, the Highlands Ability Battery, SkillsScope, and as an Assessment Center Administrator. He has completed certifications in Consulting Skills through both NTL and Columbia University.

 

Rich has served on the SciMetrika Advisory Board, the Peace College HR Advisory Board, and been a corporate advisor to the Center for Creative Leadership.

 

Rich holds a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration and Economics from St. Ambrose University and a Master's Degree in Adult Education from North Carolina State University.
